What the Horse Council does...

Welcome to the Weld County 4-H Horse Advisory Council web site. Our group consists of adult and junior volunteers who advise Extension staff on 4-H youth horse program development, assist in coordinating 4-H Horse Project activities, develop and recommend guidelines for unity and consistency in educational activities and serves as a resource in resolving issues relating to Weld County 4-H horse projects. What's New in 2014

Premier Horse Exhibitor Contest
The Premier Exhibitor Horse contest is judged by committee on showmanship, industry test, division participation, class placing, stall and animal cleanliness, educational display and bonus points given for exhibiting in additional divisions. All ages compete together with only one selected Premier Exhibitor. Pre-enter this contest along with the regular Horse Show entries. Exhibitors are allowed to enter the Premier Exhibitor Contest for each species they are enrolled in. Look for complete class details in the back of this packet.
Horse ID Photo's Required
The Exhibitor must provide photographs of all project horses when submitting any new Horse ID’s. Rules for Back up horses has changed. See more information on submitting Project ID’s on the following page.
Ranch Horse Age Groups
This year the Ranch Horse age divisions are now; SR (ages 14 & over), JR (ages 13 & under). See the fair book for more information.
Late Project Books
Any 4-H Livestock/Horse exhibitor or FFA Livestock/Horse exhibitor who does not submit a completed Livestock/Horse 4-H record book or FFA record book form by the published deadline will be removed from any record book awards and will activate the following process:

You can submit your late Livestock/Horse 4-H record book or FFA record book form with $100.00 fee per exhibitor, maximum of $500.00 per family, and attend the next scheduled Fair Board meeting to give an explanation to the Fair Board for your late Livestock/Horse 4-H record book or FFA record book form. These record books will not be judged with the other record books nor will they be considered for any of the record book awards. These late Livestock/Horse 4-H record books will be judged separately to make certain they received a score of at least 70%, if they did not then they will have to attend the 4-H record book training class. The final deadline for late submission of 4-H record books or FFA record book forms is September 30th of the current year. Absolutely no Livestock/Horse 4-H record books or FFA record book forms will be accepted after that date.

The 4-H or FFA member who does not meet the requirement of a Livestock/Horse 4-H record book or FFA record book form submitted will no longer be considered in good standing with the Weld County Fair. Said member shall not exhibit Livestock/Horse at the following year’s Weld County Fair.
